TOP-RANKED INDIAN HILLS BOYS STORM PINS, ANNIHILATE PARAMUS WITH AWESOME 2631 SET BEHIND JARED DUNCAN’S SCHOOL RECORD 784; WAYNE VALLEY GIRLS ROMP PAST FAIR LAWN BEHIND COSENTINI 711 SET

12/15/16 – The Big North high school bowlers are tearing up the lanes in demonstrative fashion, as illustrated in gargantuan numbers on Wednesday.

Indian Hills, North Jersey’s top-ranked boys team, exploded for an incredible four-player 2631 [890-884-857] in its decisive win over Paramus. Senior Jared Duncan set a school record with an outstanding 784 [226-279-279], junior Ryan McGuire added 685 [203-235-247], senior Jon Mormando 628 [217-201-210] and sophomore Jack Miller chipped in with a 212. The Big North players posted twenty-nine deuces along with ten “600 +” in yesterday’s matches. Red-hot David Grant of Fort Lee pounded his second “700” this week with 703 [199-259-245] and currently leads all bowlers with a 242 average as the Bridgemen swept past Cliffside Park. Other shutouts were recorded by St Joseph over Dumont, Fair Lawn over Wayne Valley along with Clifton, Demarest and Westwood over Bergen Tech, Old Tappan and Ramsey respectively. The sole split contest was Ridgewood’s 5-2 win over Ramapo.

The other individual high rollers: Fair Lawn sophomore Nick Greco 246-226-200: 672, Clifton sophomores’ Johann Gamo 231-211: 629 and Joe Paolillo 225-202: 619, Ridgewood freshman Brian Skettini 259-222: 624, Dumont senior Kyle Schellberg 226: 612, St Joseph senior Nathan Tombo 224-204: 610, Fair Lawn freshman Jake Nappi 248-204, Westwood senior Daniel Charles 245, Ridgewood junior Matt Myers 235, Ramapo’s Connor Horn 224, Fort Lee’s Daniel Garcia 222, Ridgewood’s Peter Yoo 222, Bergen Tech’s Walt Wargacki 221, Demarest’s Jordan Tse 217, Wayne Valley’s Nick Lepri 216, Ramapo’s Nat Mucci 213, Ridgewood’s Anthony Mayer-Aschoff 212, Old Tappan’s Alan Bogdanov 211, Demarest’s Nick Allegro 208, Wayne Valley’s Derek Borowinski 205, Ramapo’s Kevin Roccanova 205,Bergen Tech’s Marcelino Claudio 205, Westwood’s Michael Salerno 204 and Fair Lawn’s Tim Hoedemaker 201.

Among the girls’ quartets, Wayne Valley has added a freshman standout, Marissa Cosentini who leads the Big North with a 210.7 mark. Marissa posted 259-237-215: 711, Claudine Rosca 212-200 and Hayley D’Alessandro 203-201 in WV’s win over Fair Lawn. Other notable scores: Indian Hills’ Emma Bekhet 250, Clifton’s Gabby Pangaro 231-220 and Westwood’s Kristen Benavente 226.
